The Center for Great Expectations provides services to pregnant and postpartum homeless women who meet the ASAM level III.1 or III.3 criteria for residential treatment. The women often present with a profile of homelessness, trauma, and a lack of family, financial, and social support. Though they may have received prior treatment, either at an intensive outpatient setting or a prior residential treatment program, they present at risk for relapse and are in danger of losing their parental rights.
Our program exists so women in early recovery can have the opportunity to engage in long-term recovery, and demonstrate to DYFS, the Courts, herself, and her child that she is capable of being the healthy, loving, independent mother.
Multiple studies indicate a direct correlation between longer length of stay and an increased chance of sustained recovery.
